The Minecraft world is so dangerous that sacrifice is unavoidable. You can die because of zombie bites you, skeleton bites you; spider bites you, Enderman chases you or robber harms you. For that reason, holding due funeral observances is a top priority. (No one wants to craft an armor or weapon again that he or she already spent a lot of time on doing it before.) To avoid troubles above, we can install a mod namely Keeping Inventory Mod. In the game, this mod can automatically keep inventory and turn off block destroying system of the mobs such as creeper or fire spreading system (edit in file config). In other words, it automatically turns on game rule keepInventory, and turn off mobGriefing when you create a world.
